That looks like a roadblock. Pshaw!

Colorado was reeeaaallllyy fun.  I oohhed and aahhhed and snapped pictures just like a good tourist should.  Even flat, almost lifeless New Mexico held a fascination for the Q-Lyss, because she has never been anywhere but Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

We stopped by the side of the road to pick up a tumbleweed, which was named Zakatecas and given the seat of honor in the backseat of the van.  I wanted a tumbleweed, get over it!!  okay, so it was really just a bundle of twigs because its not tumbleweek season and all that was left were last year's tired tumbleweeds snagged on fences, but I love Zakatecas!!

 Too bad we left him in our cabin in Lake City. 

He was replaced by Tamaulipas and Potosi (Po' Toe Seed).  They are two more tumbleweeds.

Mountains are the biggest, most awesome things there are!!

And we also stopped by the side of the road to play with snow... in the middle of June!!!

i am tickled pinkish!!

when we were in colorado years and years ago a tumbleweed the size of our neon ~which we have since replaced~ hit our car! rather than naming the tumbleweed we named the car tumbleweed
